Coding for COVID
5 Nerds is actively taking steps to help support our local community during this pandemic. We’re a small company, but we feel strongly that we can have a positive impact in our local Southern California community.
How it started
Small businesses found themselves in unfamiliar territory over night in early 2020 and most didn’t know how to respond. Shortly thereafter, we reached out to our own team and our network of technology professionals and put out the call for support. The response was tremendous…so we got to work.
How we’re doing it
Coffee.
Seriously though, we’re helping in any way we hear about a need. Some examples:
Local businesses need small changes made to their websites to show how they’re keeping customers safe
Websites need to changes to their operating days and hours or need to add new services for delivery options
Some local businesses were able to use their resources to supply people with items that were in high demand (masks, toilet paper, sanitizer) and wanted to get the word out on their website and in search engines.
In short, we can’t cure COVID19, but we’re helping small businesses with their unexpected technology needs - all at no cost to them whatsoever.
